The professional liar and thief, Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti

Have you ever been epically screwed over before by a company? This company did it to me. This is my blog about how Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti has lied to me, broken promises, overcharged me for parts, did bad work, and refused to pay for damages.  The short version is that I took my car to him and asked that it be done in 3.5 months.  After paying $8k and getting my car back two years later, I take it to another mechanic to be checked out and the entire engine has to be rebuilt again.  The new mechanic found that the head gaskets had blown and that the camshaft and front camshaft bearing was bad.  The long version is this entire blog.

When I finally got my car back from Steve, I wanted to make sure I "babied" it and barely drove it so that Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti could not blame me for anything, which he has. I am sure now that as soon as I left his shop, he had already planned to blame me for anything that would go wrong with my car.

I contacted KDK Performance before I even picked up my car from Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti and told them the situation. I told them that I had been living in Ohio and had another shop build my engine and that I did not trust their work and wanted it checked over. KDK told me to let them know when I had my car.

As soon as I got to Florida, I called KDK. They were working on a GNX and could not take my car for two more weeks. My car sat in my driveway basically the whole time. When the two weeks were up, I took my car to KDK. After 3-4 months, they had still not touched it. They told me the GNX they were working on was taking longer than expected. But my car is still there and has been at KDK since January 2013.

As far as I know, Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti has not called them to verify anything. Like I said earlier, I am sure he already had his mind made up he was not going to reimburse me for anything. So far, the damages Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti has caused me are at $4000.00.  And that does not include the time I have lost with my car (over 3.5 years now).

Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti is certainly a professional at lying and thievery.

Newfound unprofessionalism from Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti

This is my blog about how Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti has lied to me, broken promises, overcharged me for parts, did bad work, and refused to pay for damages.  The short version is that I took my car to him and asked that it be done in 3.5 months.  After paying $8k and getting my car back two years later, I take it to another mechanic to be checked out and the entire engine has to be rebuilt again.  The new mechanic found that the head gaskets had blown and that the camshaft and front camshaft bearing was bad.  The long version is this entire blog.

I found out some news yesterday that adds to Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti's already unprofessional behavior. I have dissected Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti's unprofessional BBB response. In one part, he says my girlfriend at the time, "dumps" me.  First of all, it was unprofessional to even mention my girlfriend in a BBB response.  Second of all, the way he stated it was even more unprofessional. Thirdly, I proved I did the breaking up.  And lastly, the information I just found out yesterday, is that my ex girlfriend only said that we were no longer together. So, if this is true, Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti just outright lied about the break up to make himself try and look better. His unprofessionalism seems to be without bounds and shows his true character.

Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti is a professional.  He is a professional at lying and ripping people off.

My plea to Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti

This is my blog about how Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti has lied to me, broken promises, overcharged me for parts, did bad work, and refused to pay for damages. Originally, I was saying that this is my blog about how Colletti Motorsports has lied to me, broken promises, overcharged me for parts, did bad work, and refused to pay for damages. I decided to change it to Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti, since his workers are only doing what he asks of them and it may not be fair to blame them.   Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti is the owner and therefore solely responsible.

In the last post I mentioned I was going to contact local TV stations. I sent an email to every station in Dayton and Tampa. I did receive a phone call back from a local station in Tampa that was interested in the story. But they said they could not do the story since they could not interview Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti because he was in Ohio. They did suggest two new resources that I did not think of, the FTC and Florida Consumer Affairs. I did file complaints with them but I knew it would go nowhere since I had already filed with the Ohio Attorney General and the BBB, and got nowhere with Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti.

I do not remember exactly when it was, but once my new mechanic told me he did not want to go to Ohio to testify, I knew it was basically over for me and that I would have to accept being ripped off by Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti. That is when I decided to go all out. I decided if Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti could be unprofessional, immoral, and unethical, I would be that way too.

I gave Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti warning that I would use every possible legal resource to destroy his company for what he did to me. He obviously didn't take it seriously and now he is trying to stop me, and I am just beginning. It is going to get much worse for him. He is telling people I am trying to extort money from him and there's no telling what else will come from this unprofessional, immoral, and unethical person.

Below is the next email I sent to him asking him why he does not believe me and why he will not investigate to realize I am telling the truth. I know why, because he is a "ripper off-er."

Continued professionalism by me. Continued unprofessionalism by Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti

This is my blog about how Colletti Motorsports has lied to me, broken promises, overcharged me for parts, did bad work, and refused to pay for damages.

For those friends of Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti who believe him and think I am disgruntled and full of crap, read the blog and see the evidence. I am disgruntled.  If the car would have been ok, I would still be upset with Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti but I could have lived with it. What I can't live with is that I paid $8000.00 for a bad engine and Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti refuses to pay for it.  How would you feel if you asked for the car to be done in 3 months, it takes two years, you don't trust his work so you take it to a new mechanic, find out the work is bad, and then Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti refuses to pay for it? I think anyone would be upset.

Even at this point, I was upset but still being professional and Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti was still being unprofessional.  Let's look at the next email I sent him (below). Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti got his money and ripped me off, now he doesn't car. That's what it is, short and simple.

camshaft had gone bad too

This is my blog about how Colletti Motorsports has lied to me, broken promises, overcharged me for parts, did bad work, and refused to pay for damages.

When I had found out the head gaskets were blown, I was really upset.  And then when Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti said he would basically not pay for it, it really made me more upset.  But I was willing to let it go, basically with just a bad review and filing some consumer reports.

But what made me insanely upset is when I found out that not only were the head gaskets no good, the camshaft and front camshaft bearing had gone bad as well.  And all this just from driving it from his shop in Ohio to the new mechanic in Florida.  At this moment, the shop in Florida still has my car.  With the head gaskets and camshaft going bad, there could be some major damage to my engine. And obviously Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti is to blame and he just doesn't care.  If he cared, he would have contacted me and asked how he could rectify the situation, but he didn't.  I wouldn't expect an unprofessional person as he is to contact me.

So I am still wondering if there is more damage to my engine.  I really hope there isn't.  I really do. Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti has screwed me over way too much already.  But with water and metal shavings in the oil, it just might need some major work.  At least a good mechanic is handling it this time.  One that won't screw me over like Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti did.

Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti

This is my blog about how Colletti Motorsports has lied to me, broken promises, overcharged me for parts, did bad work, and refused to pay for damages.

In the last post, I showed an email where I told Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti I was going to consult an attorney. At this point, I only knew the head gaskets were blown. I wrote a letter to my attorney in Ohio and explained the situation. The cost of replacing the head gaskets was roughly $1200.00. Even if I won the lawsuit, I would barely come out ahead with the costs of an attorney and the travel time involved. It obviously was not worth it. So I decided I was just going to try and put a hurting on his business by writing a bad review and filing reports with every consumer group I could find. (Also, it wasn't until I found out there was more damage to my engine that I decided I would use all legal means ncessary to ruin his business. I will come to that later.)

Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti was slow on business when I had come to  him. Instead of being professional and saying he was not qualified to work on my car, he said he could. He said he could just for the money. I even explained to him that I had heard these cars were difiicult to work on. He said it would be no problem, it would be done on time, and he could get the 500HP I wanted. None of these promises were met and the engine ended up needing totally rebuilt by a real mechanic.

My intuition told me to run from this place when he suggested changing the crankshaft and timing order but Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti kept assuring me everything would be alright, just like any good ripper off-er.

Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti: a true "ripper off-er"

This is my blog about how Colletti Motorsports has lied to me, broken promises, overcharged me for parts, did bad work, and refused to pay for damages.

Colletti Motorsports likes to tell people I am trying to extort money from him.  Really?  Would someone go through all this trouble for a few thousand dollars?  Or would it be because of the opening comment and all the evidence I have presented?

Below is the next email I sent him.  Can you imagine how upset you'd be if you just spent $8000.00 to have your engine rebuilt in 3 months, then it takes 2 years to get it back and you find out the head gaskets have blown and you have to pay $1200.00 to fix it?  And not only that, the car was never fully finished?  Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti never tuned it and got only about half the horsepower he claimed he could get me.  I asked him several times to please put the miles on it himself and tune it.  He could have put the car on the dyno and ran it for a day and had the miles put on it but he just would not do it.  Like I said before, I think he knew or was afraid his work was no good and just wanted me out of there since he knew I was in Florida now.  I was also having to pay another mechanic to look over his work and get more horsepower out of it which Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti was paid to do.

I was upset on hearing that the head gaskets were bad.  (And at this point, I did not know yet that the cam and camshaft bearing was bad as well.)  Steve (the "ripper off-er") Colletti should have looked into the matter like a true professional would do.  Instead he sends only one email saying he does not warranty race engines.  I am sure his customers would like to know that even if the car breaks down right after barely putting miles on it, he will not reimburse you.  And that is what this blog is for.

I was really upset at this point that this was happening.  I was reliving all of Steve (the "ripper off-ers") Colletti's failure.
